What the Coaches are Saying...
Sep 13, 2016

“Davidson College is one of the top liberal arts schools in the entire US. It's academic excellence is unquestioned with the average class size of about 16 students. Davidson College has had success with the distance/middle distance events historically. But Coach Carpenter's mission is to put Davidson on the map for sprints and jumps. Competing in the Atlantic 10 Conference having contributions from the sprints/field events as well as the distance/middle distance events is a must in order to be successful. We pride ourselves in being able to develop athletes here. Athletes are not just a number here with ten people waiting to take their spot if they don't have success. Everything is individualized from the training, to the weight room, to the coaching relationship every athlete has with their respected event coach. We are looking for well qualified students who have had as much success in the class room as they do in the competitive field. Young people who are willing to challenge themselves now in order to have a brighter future. Our goal is to attract great young student athletes and have them leave well rounded young professionals.”

—Coach Rory Carpenter
